CELEBRATIONS:

 

Ø  Congratulations to the Dance Marathon team.  They raised close to $7,000 for Riley Children’s Hospital.  Thank you to all who donated throughout the year and those who led the fundraising and events.

Ø  PM Prosser Seniors – a bus will be bringing you each day from Prosser to NAHS for graduation practice.  The pick-up times vary and are on your senior calendar.

PM Prosser Juniors should stay at Prosser as usual.

 

Ø Students are reminded to return all library books to the library immediately.  No fines will be charged but lost books will need to be paid for before the end of the school year.

 

Ø  From your School Nurse:

All medications in the health office will go home with your child on the last day of school unless you contact me and make other arrangements. Medications will go home in backpacks in a sealed envelope.

 

Ø  Prom pictures are in!  See Mrs. Trulock-Jones before school, during lunch and after school.

Ø  National ART Honor Society members need to stop by Mrs. Schultz’s room, B332, to pick up their club t-shirt!  Please bring $1 if you did not pay ahead of time. Thank you!

Ø  Student please return your Rented Calculator or be charged $80.00 after you final exam.

Ø  Bulldog Scholars, your final exams study sessions will be TODAY in (B204).  We hope to see many of you there with your study materials.

Ø  Students, when you receive your SAT results, make sure you take advantage of linking your results to Khan Academy for individualized practice.  Here is a short video with the 3 steps you must take to link them: linking their College Board and Khan Academy online accounts and unlocking their free, personalized SAT study plan.

Research shows that studying on Official SAT Practice for 20 hours is associated with an average score gain of 115 points from the PSAT/NMSQT to the SAT—nearly double the average score gain compared to students who don’t use Khan Academy.  See your counselor if you have any questions.

Ø  Did you know:  NAHS has a clothing closet stocked with clothes, shoes, socks, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, deodorant, etc? Also, if your family is in need of food we can provide a box of non-perishable items to your family. If you or someone you know needs food, clothes, or personal hygiene products please see Mrs. Nolan or your counselor.

Ø  Attention all Juniors: there are NEW shot requirements for next school year!  You will need to have 2 doses of the hepatitis A vaccine as well as 2 doses of the meningitis vaccine (MCV4).  Please make sure you have all of those required vaccines for the start of next school year!!  If you have any questions or concerns please stop by the health office for more information.

Ø  Any student who has taken part in Community Service of any type this school year, please submit a description of the service, along with your full name, to Mrs. Lacy in the main office.  We will begin posting students’ pictures and their community service involvement on the board across from the health office.  You can also e-mail the description and your name to Dr. Ginkins at mginkins@nafcs.k12.in.us .

Ø  Habit for Humanity Clark and Floyd County Indiana has a new Program Coordinator, Amy Mattson.

Ø  Scholarship and standard applications have just opened up for Camp Cardiac Louisville & Camp Neuro Louisville 2018!  Camp Cardiac & Camp Neuro, run by medical students in over 30 cities nationwide, are 1-week summer day camps for high school students interested in exploring careers in medicine.  Students may learn more and apply by visiting http://www.campcardiac.org and http://www.campneuro.org.

Ø  Summer Drivers Ed Registration:  If you are turning 15 over the summer and would like to take Drivers Ed pick up a registration packet in the bookstore.

SPORTS INFO:

 

Ø  New Albany Volleyball Summer Camp for Boys and Girls Elementary and Middle School.  See attachment for detail and registration.

 

Ø  To any girl interested in playing golf for New Albany next year, there will be a meeting after school in Coach Belcher’s room (B222) TODAY after school.  The meeting will last approximately 20 minutes.

 

Ø  Anyone interested in playing football equipment hand out is TODAY after school 2:45-5:30 pm.  See Coach Cooley in the Weight Room for any questions.

 

Ø  The 2018 Basketball Indiana Junior – Senior All – Star Game will be held here Wednesday, June 6, 2018.
