NAHS MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS                       THURSDAY                                                       8-09-12

Good morning Bulldogs!  It is Thursday Aug. 9, 2012, the FOURTH day of classes at New Albany High School.  We BELIEVE it was a great day yesterday, and that it going to be a GREAT YEAR!
Please stand, face the American Flag, we will recite the Pledge of Allegiance followed by a Moment of Silence.
NJROTC Cadet Chloe Rutherford will lead the Pledge of Allegiance today.

“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

ü  Post attendance each period.  Be sure to take each class through emergency drills/procedures.  Be sure doors close/lock when you come back in from the drills.
ü  Schedules and handbooks of students not in class this week are to be returned tomorrow.  Return schedules to main office and student handbooks to the bookstore


  • Be sure you know your lunch group, we have five of them.  Have money in your account, know you PIN, or have the exact amount of money ready before you get to the cashier.  There are 3 “Grill” lines.  In the Café, be patient, the lines will be long, they will get better.  ALL STUDENTS must report to the café, you cannot wander the halls.  Be sure to pick up your trash and return trays to proper location.  SENIORS, the Loft area of the café is open just for you.  Mrs. McGuirk is there to begin assisting you with “all things related to your SENIOR year.”

  • PM Processer students MUST BE AT DOOR 7 to leave at 10:45AM.  The only doors Prosser students should enter/exit are #1 or #7.

  • NJROTC students are reminded the only door to enter/exit is #8.

  • Doors open at 7:00 AM.  The café and Aux Gym are open for students before classes begin.

  • Parking permits will be sold in Mrs. Johnson’s office, who is located in the main office, before and after school.  The cost of a parking permit is $3.00.  Mopeds cannot be on school property.

  • Use side hallways/staircases, keep moving.  If you have the following teachers you have great access to those staircases…. Sinlinger, Geron, Korte, Schotter, Jacobi, Reed, Ballage, Hubbert, Kaiser, Mick, and McLaughlin.

  • Reminder to all students:  When we dismiss school, NAHS students are not allowed to enter or visit Hazelwood.

  • Students, your handbook are your pass to move around the building, and to record assignments.

  • Students, become familiar with the following handbook pages:  Attendance expectations beginning on pg. 9.  NAHS expects 95% attendance from out students and staff.  The DRESS CODE begins on pg. 16.  NAHS expects students to dress appropriately for school, and hats should be removed when the bell rings to begin school at 7:40 AM.  Electronics devises (pg. 23) are to be powered off and put away at all times, unless being used in a classroom with the approval of a school official.  This includes ear buds being put away at all times.

  • Any Freshman interested in joining Student Council should stop by Mr. Ballage’s room, B232, to pick up an application.  Also, current members, there is a meeting after school today.
Be A Better Bulldog Leaders will begin tutoring after school next week, Mondays and Wednesday, from 2:30 to 3:30 in room B302.  Any student is welcome to attend for assistance, test preparation, or class projects.
Picture day is scheduled for Monday Aug. 20th for Students and Staff.  Please mark your calendars.
New Albany’s Varsity Volleyball Team will scrimmage Providence here tonight at 6PM.  Ticket prices – Student $1.00 and Adults $3.00.
