William Vaughn Moody – Class of 1885 – Poet and playwright.
Sherman Minton – Class of 1910 – Went on to become supreme court justice.
Guy Mackey – Class of 1925 – Purdue Stadium named after him.
Billy Herman – Entered NAHS at age 13. Became baseball star for Brooklyn Dodgers. Also in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Marion Richardson Byrn – Class of 1943 – Winner of National Spelling Bee when she was 12 years old.
Robert Eicholz – Class of 1944 – Author of elementary math books and programs used nationally.
Robert Joe (Jo-Jo) Dean – Class of 1948 – Nationally known basketball player.
Gerald Huth – Class of 1952. Played professional football for the New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, and Minnesota Vikings.
Jim Henry – Class of 1955 – Received Basketball Tresler Award for all around sportsmanship and scholarship.
Wilton Jameson (Jamey) Aebersold – Class of 1957 – Nationally and internationally known jazz musician.
Steve Kime – Class of 1958. Captain, U.S. Navy, senior officer to U.S.S.R., U.S. Defense Attache to Russia, 1983-1985. Dean of U.S. Naval Academy, 1986-1989.
Tom Hutchinson – Class of 1959. All-American football player at the University of Kentucky and player on the Cleveland Browns professional football team.
Regina Overton – Class of 1960. Elected first female mayor of New Albany.
Connie Sipes – Class of 1967. State senator to Indiana. Selected in 1999 as the Outstanding Alum of Indiana University Southeast.
Susan Bertrand Espeseth – Class of 1967 – Co-Winner of AMA’s top award at 18th International Science Fair in San Francisco.
Basil (Buzz) Lorch – Class of 1967 – Federal judge.
Magaret (Maggie) Elizabeth Oster – Class of 1967 – Widely published garden writer and photographer.
Frank Urban (Fuzzy) Zoeller – Class of 1970 – Internationally known golfer, winner of the Masters in 1979 and U.S. Open in 1984.
Camile Wright – Class of 1973 – Three Gold Medals in Pan Am Games and Silver Medal in 1976 Olympics in swimming. New Albany swimming pool named after her.
Jeffrey Woodard – Class of 1977-4 Year Southeastern Conference High Jump Champion. High Jump World record holder, 7-7 3/4, Indoor World Record Holder.
Cathi Bennet – Class of 1984 – Miss Indiana USA in 1991.
Dayna Brewer – Class of 1988 – Miss Indiana in 1993.
Shani Nelson – Class of 1990 – Miss Indiana 1996.
Kenitra Johnson – Class of 1999. State champion basketball player and runner-up in Miss Indiana. Member of NCAA division I University of Connecticut national championship team.
Stan Sajko – Elected to Indiana High School Coach’s Association Hall of Fame for coaching baseball.
John Buerger – Elected to Indiana High School Coach’s Association Hall of Fame for coaching baseball.
Alex Thom – Elected to Indiana High School Coach’s Association Hall of Fame for coaching football.
Forest McCaffry – Elected to Indiana High School Coach’s Association Hall of Fame for coaching football.
Bob Dusch – Elected to Indiana High School Coach’s Association Hall of Fame for coaching tennis.
Phil Thrasher – Elected to Indiana High School Coach’s Association Hall of Fame for coaching wrestling.
Edwin P. Hubble – Discovered the universe beyond the Milky Way Galaxy and galactic red shift. Hubble Space Telescope named after him.
Charles A. Prosser – Superintendent of Schools and ‘Father’ of vocational education in the U.S. 1905-08.
Mike Wolfe – Class of 1994 – Pro Bowler on the PBA Tour, winner of the Earl Anthony Classic.
